A TALK by GEZA GORDOS “The Life and Work of LASZLO KOZMA” Telecommunications genius and computer pioneer
Laszlo Kozma, regarded as one of the most talented Hungarian engineers, started in 1938 a commissioned work on what he later described as stored computer programmes. This work contributed to the UK’s successful breaking of German coded messages in WW II. He was persecuted by both the Nazis and later the communists. Professor Geza Gordos was one of his students. His major fields of expertise are telecommunications and its connection with computer technology and speech technology. Since 2007 he has been Professor Emeritus at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
